This is my second (finished) submission to the (now over) First Contact themed
Seventh Sanctum Generator Art Competition, & I've moved the
Line art version to my scraps.
For this entry, I used the
alien race name generator to come up with
Eel-mantises (who call themselves
Mirage Devourers) armed with lazer-bows (that bit I thought up myself on the spur of the moment), riding
Vulture-behemoths (though they refer to their mounts as
Celestial Brutes), accompanies by other beings disparagingly known in their home part of the universe by a term that can loosely be translated as '
Flux Hags'. The Mirage Devourers who serve them, though, prefer to call them by the more respectful title of '
Icy Oracles Of The Warp'.
I wasn't originally going to put the two Flux Hags in, but when I looked at one of results I got from
the other generator that can be used in this competition:
"The bulky, eel-like race. Biologically they are inclined to be negotiators. They are notoriously hyperactive. They control only one planet. There is another race they worship as gods. They come from another universe." I decided to give the Mirage Devourers some company.
Artliner & marker sketch coloured in Photoshop2 & Artrage2. I put this version in the Digital art category since most of what you see on it is Ps/Ar generated.
